There is a part-time position within the Jefferson Township Police Department. Employee is required to be available to work a flexible schedule, as scheduling for the part-time Police Department varies including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Operating police vehicles, applying knowledge of laws and active patrols within Jefferson Township are all typical functions of this position. The employee will be responsible for regular patrols to maintain law and order, protect members of the public and their properties, prevent crime and improve the quality of life of our citizens.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
*Education/Previous Experience/Licenses:
Completion of Act 120 training
Minimum one year previous experience desired
PA drivers license is required
*Specific skils, knowledge and abilities:
Report writing
Strong public relations skills
Excellent communications skills
Previous firearms and protective skills
Knowledge of related agencies (i.e - court system, FBI, Pennsylvania State Police)
Patrolmen may work up to 30 hours per week including evenings, weekends and holidays. All applicants MUST have completed Act 120 training.
